Upload a logo and get a complete app icon set: 180×180, 192×192 and 512×512 PNGs, web manifest and the HTML to paste into your site.

An app icon is your product’s face on the home screen — and every platform wants it in a different size. This free app icon generator turns one logo into the complete set: 180×180 for the iOS home screen (Apple touch icon), 192×192 and 512×512 for Android and progressive web apps, plus a site.webmanifest and the HTML snippet to wire it all up. Upload once, download a ZIP, done in under a minute — entirely in your browser.

What is an app icon set, and which sizes do you need?

Unlike a browser favicon, app icons live on home screens and in app drawers, where they render large — so they need high-resolution sources. The set this tool generates covers the web and installable-app world: apple-touch-icon.png (180×180) for iOS home-screen bookmarks and web clips, android-chrome-192x192.png and android-chrome-512x512.png for Android and PWA installation, plus a multi-size favicon.ico and tab PNGs so your site looks finished everywhere. One honest boundary: submitting to the Apple App Store itself requires a 1024×1024 icon uploaded separately in App Store Connect — this tool covers your website, PWA, and home-screen icons, not the store binary.

How to generate your app icons

  1. Upload your logo — square PNG or JPG at 512px or larger works best; SVG works too.
  2. Adjust padding and background — the padding control leaves breathing room around your mark (useful as a safe zone on Android), and transparent backgrounds look cleanest on home screens.
  3. Download the ZIP and extract the icon PNGs where your site or PWA expects them.
  4. Copy the HTML snippet and paste it inside the <head> section of your pages, and reference the icons in your site.webmanifest.
  5. Hard-refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R) — browsers and phones cache icons aggressively, so a normal refresh may not show the new one.

PWA installability: the manifest and safe zones

For a progressive web app, the site.webmanifest is what lets Android install your site with the correct icons, name, and theme colors — the tool generates one listing the 192px and 512px icons. One design note: Android crops icons into circles, squircles, and teardrops, so keep your mark away from the edges. The tool’s padding control exists exactly for this: add padding until the live preview shows comfortable breathing room, and your icon survives every mask shape.

Design tips for app icons

Private by design

Your logo is resized, packaged and zipped entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to any server. Need browser-tab icons too? Our favicon generator builds the full tab set. Converting a vector logo first? Try SVG to PNG, and shrink large sources with the PNG compressor.

Frequently asked questions

What app icon sizes do I get?

The ZIP includes apple-touch-icon.png (180×180) for the iOS home screen, android-chrome-192x192.png and android-chrome-512x512.png for Android and PWAs, plus a multi-size favicon.ico, 16px and 32px PNGs, a site.webmanifest, and a copy-paste HTML snippet.

Can I use these icons for the Apple App Store?

Not directly. App Store Connect requires a 1024×1024 icon uploaded separately as part of your app submission. This tool generates the icon set for your website, progressive web app, and iOS home-screen web clips — start from a 1024px source and you will have the App Store asset ready too.

What makes a good app icon source image?

A square image at least 512×512 pixels, ideally simple: a bold letter, a simple mark, or a simplified version of your logo. Detailed photos and thin text become unrecognizable at small sizes — check the live preview before downloading.

How do I add the icons to my website?

Extract the ZIP, place the icon files where your site expects them, paste the HTML snippet inside the head section of your pages, and reference the 192px and 512px icons in your site.webmanifest so installable apps pick them up.

Do I need the web manifest file?

For a regular website it is optional but recommended; for a progressive web app (PWA) it is required so Android can install your site with the correct icons and theme colors. It costs nothing to include.

Is my logo uploaded to a server?

No. The entire package — resizing, ICO encoding, ZIP building — runs locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your logo never leaves your device.
